Dr. Katherine King was born and raised in Atlanta, GA, and spent her life down south before moving to beautiful Colorado in 2018.
Dr. King graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!). In 2018, she obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University in Alabama. From a young age, Dr. King has had an interest in animals growing up in a home with five dogs and one cat. Today, her home is a little less of a zoo with only one pup- Nico. While she would describe his breed as “perfect,” she suspects he is a mix of Australian Cattle Dog and Corgi. Her professional interests include preventative medicine, pain management, dermatology, and geriatric care. Dr. King is also devoted to low-stress handling for her patients. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the Colorado Association (CVMA).
When Dr. King is not at work, she loves spending time with her family- her husband, Odie, infant daughter, Savannah, and, of course, Nico. She enjoys spending time outside, including hiking, gardening, and skiing, and she is very passionate about travel. She is looking forward to meeting the clients at Rising Sun and working together to care for your pets!
